Profile — Holly Le Var
In her third year of BA, Holly partnered with the community of Somers Town on a locally-led design project, which was included in the 2019 exhibition ‘Designing in Turbulent Times’ at the Lethaby Gallery and included in the Maison/0 Green Trail for sustainable design. Her final thesis on temporary utopian festival cultures, ‘The Civic Festival’, was granted the Reyner Banham Dissertation Award and has thereafter become an ongoing personal research study.
While at CSM, she was also involved in the leadership of various societies and collaborated with communities in Essex, Denmark, Japan and multiple sites within London. Alongside her studies, she has worked for numerous art and design practices in the fields of illustration, architecture, graphic design, public engagement, research and photography.
